The Nymphs is an original acrylic and oil painting on 36in by 24 inch canvas.

The Nymph is an explortion of sisterhood, and the first paitning I made while giving myself permissionto be less perfect but still faithful. The visible dynamic brush strokes give the piece kinetic energy and push it towards abstraction. The ominous crocodile is a call back to a previous piece of my work called “Mine” in which a girl is standing in water with a fierce look on her face hold a crocodile around her shoulders.

The crocodile is menacing but the nymphs dont seem to notice, is it there pet protecting them, or are they so caught up that they’ve over looked the danger? These are questions we can ask ourselves about our own lizard psyche.
